Executes daily cannabis cultivation operations under the supervision of the Cultivation Manager and Cultivation Supervisor(s). Responsible for hands-on plant care and maintaining cultivation standards to ensure healthy plant development and quality production. Reports to the Cultivation Supervisor and works collaboratively with the cultivation team.
Key Responsibilities
Cultivation Operations
Execute daily and weekly cultivation tasks including feeding, nutrient brewing and maintenance, cleaning, trellising, topping, super cropping, pruning, transplanting, training, and plant monitoring via systems
Monitor plant health and development, identifying issues such as pests, disease, or nutrient deficiencies
Responsible for IPM applications to all plants
Execute cultivation tasks according to established SOPs and schedules
Assist with transplanting and plant movement activities
Report plant health issues, equipment problems, or safety concerns to Cultivation Supervisor(s) and Cultivation Manager
Processes and prepares coco coir for transplants
Facility Maintenance & Sanitation
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grow rooms, equipment, and work areas
Clean and sanitize tools, pots, trays, and cultivation equipment
Remove plant waste and maintain organized work areas
Assist with general facility maintenance tasks as needed
Documentation & Compliance
Accurately document daily/weekly cultivation activities in necessary cultivation logs
Accurately document all IPM applications and assist with Department of Agriculture compliance
Follow all state specific cannabis regulations and company compliance policies
Required Qualifications
Background check – no disqualifying offenses
Reliable transportation
Ability to work independently and in teams
Excellent time management and communication skills
Experience with environmental control systems, irrigation systems, and grow room technologies
Availability to work weekends (Tuesday through Saturday)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as Cultivation Manager or Head Grower in a licensed cannabis or hemp facility
Experience cultivating multiple cannabis strains and optimizing strain-specific protocols
Background in organic or sustainable agriculture practices
Certification in horticulture, IPM, or related areas
Experience with tissue culture or advanced propagation techniques
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during cultivation activities
Comfortable working in warm, humid environments with bright lighting
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
Capable of bending, kneeling, and reaching during plant care activities
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $65,000 - $95,000 annually
Actual compensation depends on experience level and demonstrated track record. Candidates with extensive cannabis or hemp cultivation experience, proven ability to optimize yields and quality, and strong leadership capabilities may command the higher end of the range.
