Centaurus Farms Kentucky is part of a growing multi-state cannabis operator with vertically integrated operations spanning cultivation, processing, and retail. We seek an experienced Cultivation Manager to establish our cultivation practices in Kentucky and manage them once we are fully operational.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cultivation Manager to lead all cultivation operations at our state-of-the-art indoor cannabis facility in Kentucky. As the most senior cultivation position, you will be responsible for optimizing plant health, maximizing yields, ensuring product quality, and leading our cultivation team to excellence. This is a full-time, on-site position that may require travel for training purposes.
Key Responsibilities
Cultivation Operations
Oversee all aspects of cannabis cultivation from propagation through harvest in multiple grow rooms
Develop and refine cultivation standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices
Manage cultivation schedules to ensure consistent production and harvest cycles
Monitor and manage environmental controls; temperature, humidity, CO2, lighting, and irrigation
Implement and manage integrated pest management (IPM) programs
Quality and Compliance
Ensure compliance with all Kentucky cannabis regulations and facility policies
Coordinate with QA/QC team on testing protocols and requirements
Document all cultivation activities in seed-to-sale tracking system (Metrc or similar) Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise cultivation team including assistant growers and cultivation technicians
Create work schedules, delegate tasks, and conduct performance evaluations
Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Resource and Process Management
Manage cultivation budgets including nutrients, supplies, and equipment
Monitor and optimize resource usage to reduce waste and control costs
Analyze cultivation data to identify opportunities for yield and quality improvements
Research and implement new cultivation techniques and technologies
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Plant Science preferred
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on cultivation experience with cannabis or hemp
Proven track record of managing indoor cultivation operations and achieving quality yields
Strong knowledge of plant physiology, nutrient management, and integrated pest management
Experience with environmental control systems, irrigation systems, and grow room technologies
Excellent interpersonalFamiliarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems and cannabis regulatory requirements and communication skills
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends, depending on crop cycles, systems and equipment monitoring, and especially during facility set up
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience as Cultivation Manager or Head Grower in a licensed cannabis or hemp facility
Experience cultivating multiple cannabis strains and optimizing strain-specific protocols
Background in organic or sustainable agriculture practices
Certification in horticulture, IPM, or related areas
Experience with tissue culture or advanced propagation techniques
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during cultivation activities
Comfortable working in warm, humid environments with bright lighting
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
Capable of bending, kneeling, and reaching during plant care activities
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $65,000 - $95,000 annually
Actual compensation depends on experience level and demonstrated track record. Candidates with extensive cannabis or hemp cultivation experience, proven ability to optimize yields and quality, and strong leadership capabilities may command the higher end of the range.
